Platte River Equity
Pool & Extra Products is a case study given out by Platte River Equity.
This case study is broken up into two sections: 1) an evaluation of Pool & Extra Products from a qualitative perspective and 2) the creation of an LBO model from scratch.
The first section tests the candidate's ability to determine business strengths and weaknesses from a company overview of Pool & Extra Products, a wholesale distributor of pool and spa products that focuses on the Western region of the United States.
The second section has the candidate complete a three-statement LBO model based on a hypothetical business (completely separate from Pool & Extra Products) that has two different business lines. This section also includes questions on awarding management a profit interest and which business segment you'd rather own.
